Removable device to block the fluid flow in a free centre lane of a heat exchanger tube bundle located above a tube sheet in a nuclear steam generator. A handhole is aligned with the centre lane and part of the device is inserted into it. The device has a blocking section and a mounting section which are connected together and moved as a unit.
