A process for the preparation of novel complex compounds of rhodium, iridium or ruthenium with a siliceous structure with at least one phosphine ligand whose trivalent phosphorus is linked via at least one divalent organic radical to silicon which builds up, by means of its remaining three valencies via oxygen bridges derived from the hydrolysis of functional substituents originally bonded thereto, an insoluble polycondensate with inter- or intramolecular crosslinking, is described. Any necessary equalization of charge is effected by an anion. The novel polymeric complexes are suitable for use in heterogeneous catalysis of various chemical reactions.
