I catheter for coronary angiography, characterized by comprising a tubular flexible body portion; a portion of tubular flexible tip at one end of the body portion and in communication therewith; said tip portion having a loop formed therein being transverse the plane of the loop to the axis of the body portion, said loop having at least one arcuate portion with means peripheral openings, outwardly directed formed therein; said means of peripheral openings extending longitudinally from the peripheral wall of said arcuate portion, at a distance of at least twice the width of the opening means, for directing a flow of contrast medium in a fan shape to a sector selected from the aortic wall; and said loop having arcuate portions devoid of peripheral openings adjacent to either side of said arcuate portion and extending in cadauna them than the angular distance of said arcuate portion angular distances.
