16ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA pulse-width modulated motor drive for an ACmotor includes components to sense the primary current of themotor and derive signals corresponding to it and a variablefrequency inverter supplying AC to the motor. The systemincludes timing wave reference signals, and a pulse widthmodulator, which is controlled by the reference signals,for controlling the inverter. A motor speed signal generatorand components to compensate any phase or amplitude differencebetween the time wave reference and the primary current waveform in accordance with the speed signal.
