Novel compounds of the formula:wherein R₁, R₂ and R₃ are independently hydrogen, halogen, C_1-6 alkyl, or haloalkyl; R₄ is hydrogen, C_1-4 alkyl, alkenyl, alkoxy, haloalkyl, C_1-2 alkylamino, C_1-2 alkylthio, C_3-4 cycloalkyl, C_2-6 alkoxyalkyl, C_2-6 alkylthiomethyl, amino, phenoxy, phenamino, or furan; and R₅ is hydrogen or C_1-4 alkyl, are useful for regulating the natural growth or development of turf grass.
