The display has an upper transparent layer with a thin transparent conductive coating on its underside forming an upper electrode. A middle layer has a hollow portion and contains the liq. crystal. There are two conductive spacing members connecting two outer metallisation stripes on the base to the upper electrode. - The base layer has seven metallisation regions on its surface in the usual seven-segment form. Each metallisation portion has a corresp. terminal strip at one edge of the base layer. Two legs are electrically connected through the base layer to the outer-upper-electrode contacts, and can be soldered into a PCB.(2)
