The invention relates to a power transmission system for rotary-wing aircraft or propeller-driven aircraft, a torque being transmitted to a rotor via a drive motor (15), a centrifugal-force clutch (2) and a transmission which is introduced between the drive motor and the rotor shaft (1). The transmission consists of a chain drive (13) having a double-roller chain. The chain drive acts on the rotor via a freewheeling arrangement (7). This freewheeling arrangement enables autorotation in the event of failure of the power transmission system. The field of application is, in particular, industrial helicopters. IMAGE
