Leaf spring for influencing the vibrations of saxophone and clarinet reeds

In order to improve the vibration performance of saxophone and clarinet reeds, the reed is supported at different points by specially shaped, leaf-like metal springs. The user is thus given a substantial scope to influence performance by choosing the pre-stress and by setting the support point. The moderate vibratory capacity of less good reeds and the relaxation of tension in reeds wetted by use can be compensated by the supporting springs.
