A device for supporting and securing plant stems 2 of, in particular, long-stemmed plants 3 is essentially composed of a stake 1 which can be driven into the ground in the root region of the plant 3, and of retaining elements which are connected to the stake 1 and fasten the stems 2. In order to configure the device such that it can be used in conjunction with plants of extremely different growth forms and sizes and can support, in particular even the stems of bushy plants in the blossom or fruit-bearing region thereof and does not detract from the appearance, stake 1 exhibits a plurality of annular grooves 6 which narrow its cross-section 4, and the retaining elements are composed of extension means 7 which project from the stake, have, at their stake-side end 8, a fork-shaped or ring-shaped connecting element 9, engaging into one of the annular grooves 6 of the stake 1, are designed in their central region as spacer rods 11 and, in their end region 12, exhibit a supporting element 13 which engages around the stem 2 of the plant 3.
