Electro-optical surveying device for securing evidence in the case of accidents in road traffic and for recordings at the site of a crime

The surveying device contains target optics for sighting a measuring point and a device for picking up and converting the angle coordinates of the measurement point into an electrical measurement signal. The surveying device also contains an optical device for range finding between the surveying device and the measurement point and a device for converting the distance into an electrical measurement signal. The surveying device further contains a recording device (1) with a semiconductor memory (2) and a coding device with key pad. According to the invention, each coding key (5a to 16a) is connected to one read-only memory (5 to 16) each, the outputs of the read-only memories being supplied to an OR circuit (4) so that one read-only memory (5 to 16) is activated and connected through during the coding of a measurement value. Furthermore, an AND circuit (3) is provided at which the measurement values are present (measurement value line 19) and which can be switched through by a release key (18) in the case of the additional presence of a coding information, by means of which the measurement values are read into the memory (2) together with coding values from the read-only memories (5 to 16).
