A washing machine, in particular for commercial laundries and dry cleaning, is composed of a housing, of at least two inner washing drums which are provided in the housing and are intended for laundry, of in each case one cylindrical drum wall, of two opposite end walls provided with openings, of a pocket-like device which is assigned to the drum wall and the opening of which is aligned such that it temporarily receives the laundry when the inner washing drum rotates in a first direction of rotation, and of a conveying device having an opening which is directed towards the inner washing drum and into which the laundry passes, in order to be further conveyed into the other drum or out of the machine, when the inner washing drum rotates in a direction of rotation counter to the first direction of rotation. The pocket-like device extends over a drum-circumference angle of 10 DEG to 70 DEG and the opening of the pocket-like device is arranged such that it is offset over the drum circumference by 150 DEG to 200 DEG relative to the opening of the conveying device.
