Distributed data processing system, in which an arbitrary processor has the function of itself receiving information and data arriving via a transmission path, and of receiving received data on the basis of information which gives the input/output relationships between modules, corresponding to the linkage of processing between the modules. If required, the necessary parts of the received information and logging results are extracted, so that not only the time series data logs, but also the information or data logs corresponding to the flow of the processing sequence can be collected, by forming a display or print module. Furthermore, if data is received from an external device, the system generates a message with an information (the event number), which gives the data receiving sequence, to receive data from an external device, and with a data field, which contains the contents of the data which was received from the external device, and the system outputs this message to the transmission path. For a message which is received from the transmission path, the event number of the input message is transferred to a message which is to be output on the transmission path as a result of the processing.
