Container for storage or transport comprising one or more shelves which are mounted so that they can be swivelled up against the rear wall. At the level of each of these shelves 5, the internal faces of the lateral walls 4 of the container bear corner irons 6, intended to serve as support to the corresponding shelf in its position of use. These corner irons provide a free space between their rear end and the rear wall 3 of the container, for engaging the rear edge of the corresponding shelf 5 when it is raised. At some distance from its rear edge, each shelf 5 comprises, on its internal face, a flat iron 9a arranged on its small side and which is capable of serving as rest element on the rear end of the corresponding corner irons 6 when the shelf is raised against the rear wall 3 of the container. This container can take on the shape of a handling trolley, or of a receptacle, or else of storage furniture or the like. IMAGE
