Vibration damping by the impacts of masses

The invention relates to the protection against vibrations of a structure such as a pipeline, gas duct, framework, furnace, reactor... by rigidly fixing to the structure anti-vibration devices which are characterised by compartments containing free spherical masses. The vibration damping is obtained by impacts of the mass against the compartment, which impacts are due to the oscillations of the structure, to the inertia of the mass and to the clearance between the compartment and the acting mass.
