A unitary plastics nib 5 is made in a generally flat form and is then bent into an figure-of-eight configuration so that tines 6 defining the writing tip are pressed against each other by a force due to the inherent resilience of the plastics material. The nib is fed with ink from a reservoir (not shown) by means of capillary feedbar or wick 7 and performs in the same manner as a conventional split metal nib. IMAGE
