A silver halide color photographic material is described, comprising a support having formed thereon at least one silver halide emulsion layer having dispersed therein, in a coexisting state, at least one magenta coupler represented by formula (I) and at least one high- boiling point organic solvent represented by the formula (II) ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each represents a hydrogen atom or a substituent and x represents a hydrogen atom or a group capable of being released by a coupling reaction with the oxidation product of an aromatic primary amine developing agent; andPPwherein R.sup.3, R. sup.4, and R. sup.5 each represents an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, or an alkenyl group, and the total number of carbon atom of the groups R. sup.3, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 is from 12 to 60.
