SERIES CONNECTION SYSTEM FOR WAVELENGTH MULTIPLEX OPTICAL SIGNAL

PURPOSE:To use plural optical plugs to insert, extract, and branch an optical signal from an optical optical receptacle by connecting plural optical receptacles, to which optical plugs can be set, in series by optical fibers. CONSTITUTION:Plural optical signal connecting optical receptacles 10-1-10-n are provided, and they are connected in series by optical fibers 11 for optical signal transmission to constitute a main transmission line. An optical branching device 12 and photoelectric converters (0/E1 and 0/E2) 13-1 and 13-2 are connected to the output side of the main transmission line. Optical receptacles 10-1-10-n have such structure that optical signal connecting optical plugs 14-1 and 14-2 can be connected to them. Electrophoto converters (E/01 and E/02) 15-1 and 15-2 are connected to optical plugs 14-1 and 14-2 through optical fibers 11 and 11 respectively. Thus, optical receptacles transmit the optical signal with a small connection loss and act to insert or branch the optical signal through optical plugs set to optical receptacles.
