BRASS ALLOY PLATING METHOD FOR STEEL WIRE BY DIFFUSION METHOD

PURPOSE:To realize diffusion at a prescribed temp. and to permit brass alloy plating having excellent rubber adhesive performance by measuring current and voltage at the time of electrical heating of a plated steel wire and adjusting electric power for heating according to the measured values. CONSTITUTION:The current and voltage when the steel wire 8 subjected to the brass alloy plating is electrically heated are measure by a current measuring instrument 4 and a potential measuring instrument 6. The measured current and voltage values as well as conditions such as Cu content, plating thickness and wire diameter are inputted to an arithmetic control device 7 which calculates a specific resistance value. Feedback is applied to a power supply to correct the varied specific resistance value to a set specific resistance value so that the prescribed diffusion temp. is assured with high accuracy. The brass alloying is controlled with high accuracy by this method.
