PURPOSE:To improve the heat resisting property of the titled wire without lowering the conductivity and the strength, by cooling roughly drawn wires of an Al alloy containing specified amounts of Zr, Fe, and Si to a temperature which is lower than a specified one, and then, by performing the drawing after the area is reduced for more than a specified % at the temperature. CONSTITUTION:Roughly drawn wires of an Al-Zr-Fe-Si alloy composed of 0.01- 0.8wt% Zr, 0.07-0.8wt% Fe, 0.03-0.3wt% Si, and the rest of Al with impurities is manufactured. This roughly drawn wire is worked by a continuous drawing while the wire is cooled and maintained at 120 deg.C and a =60% area reducing work is performed on the wire. When heat resisting aluminum alloy wires are manufactured in this way, occurrence of hardening phenomena by low temperature annealing is prevented and the heat resisting property of the wires is improved.
