PURPOSE:To enable efficient lamination and compression of fresh fishes and shellfishes of irregular shape, by providing a press plate for placing on the fresh fishes or shellfishes of irregular shape laminated on the bottom wall of an opened box unit and pressing means for pressing the press plate to the side of the bottom wall after closing the box unit. CONSTITUTION:At least part of sidewalls 22-25 of a box unit having the bottom wall 21 and sidewalls 22-25 are openable and closable. Furthermore, the box unit is provided with a press plate 36 for placing on fishes or shellfishes of irregular shape laminated on the bottom wall 21 of the opened box unit and pressing means 32 and 35 for pressing the press plate 36 to the side of the bottom wall 21 after closing the box unit. As a result, the fishes or shellfishes of irregular shape can be efficiently laminated and compressed in a stage before processing into the form of slices.
