DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING DRUM ROTARY SPEED OF WIRE ROD COILER

PURPOSE:To improve the winding state of a wire rod by providing the device to convert the extrusion speed of a wire rod into the wire rod speed and setting the winding pitch, winding width and winding diameter of the wire rod based on the wire rod speed as well. CONSTITUTION:The speed detector 9 of a press plunger punch 3 is provided to find a wire rod speed (v) by multiplying the detected speed V thereof by an extrusion ratio via a multiplier 23. The wire rod speed (v) is inputted respectively to the setting circuits 10, 11, 12 of the winding pitch P, winding width W and winding diameter D and inputted as a speed reference signal to a speed regulator 14 via an integrator 13 to perform the control of a motor 9. Moreover, a bypass circuit 16 and changing over switch 17 are arranged between the pitch setting circuit 10 and integrator 13. With this mechanism, the rotary speed of a drum bottom plate 8 is automatically controlled and the wire rod 4 is wound on the bottom plate 8 in good order. Consequently, the winding state of the wire rod 4 is improved.
