MAINTENANCE METHOD FOR TUYERE BRICK FOR AOD FURNACE

PURPOSE:To increase resistant force to thermal spalling and to improve the using life by heating a tuyere brick in an AOD furnace from back face. CONSTITUTION:A heating apparatus A is fitted to the back face of the tuyere brick 1 in the AOD furnace and the temp. at the back face part of the tuyere brick 1 is raised, to make the temp. incline on the working face of inner face in the furnace as less as possible. The development of crack in the tuyere brick 1 caused by the thermal spalling is prevented and the using life of the tuyere brick is extended and the operating ratio in the AOD furnace is improved.
