COLOR DISPLAY CONTROL SYSTEM FOR AREA COLOR IN LINE DRAWING PROCESSING

PURPOSE:To reduce the data size of a neutral tints to be held by expressing the color index of a neutral tints in which an area of a line drawing should be painted out, with a combination of dot patterns of different reference colors and outputting this color index to a printer or a display device. CONSTITUTION:A mixture ratio/dot pattern number correspondence table 4a is prepared where a mixture ratio of plural reference colors corresponding to each color index is expressed with a combination of numbers of plural preliminarily determined dot patterns, and the color in which an area of the line drawing should be painted out is indicated with the color index of neutral tints. The mixture ratio/dot pattern number correspondence table is referred based on this color index to obtain plural dot patterns and color information consisting of reference colors (mixture colors) to be mixed. The area of the line drawing outputted to a graphic output device 9 is painted out in the neutral tints based on this color information. Thus, the data size of the neutral tints to be held is reduced.
