CARBURIZING STEEL HAVING SUPERIOR PITTING RESISTANCE

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a carburizing steel as stock for bearings and gears requiring pitting resistance and durability by adding Cr and other element for improving strength to Fe and making the S and O contents as low as possible. CONSTITUTION:A steel having a compsn. contg., by weight, 0.15-0.50% C, 0.50-1.5% Si, 0.40-1.5% Mn, 1.0-2.0% Cr, 0.005% S and 0.001% O or further contg. one or two among 2.0-4.0% Ni, 0.40-0.75% Mo and 0.05-0.20% Cu and/or 0.10-0.20% Nb as elements for providing high strength is manufactured by refining. A carburizing steel having superior pitting resistance and also having superior rolling fatigue resistance is obtd.
