DECIDING SYSTEM FOR DECLENSIONAL KANA ENDING

PURPOSE:To retrieve a desired word even though the same declensional KANA (Japanese syllabary) ending is not detected by reading a headword including the KANJI (Chinese characters) extracted out of a sentence and detecting a word ending read-down type word via a declensional KANA ending reading part when a KANJI-KANA word is detected. CONSTITUTION:If no coincident headword is not detected out of a dictionary 6 via a retrieving part 1, a start position detecting part 2 searches the start position of a character string that is estimated to be undetectable owing to the difference of declensional KANA endings. Then the KANJI of a part where the formation of a word is estimated is extracted. Based on this KANJI, a collating part 4 reads a headword out of the dictionary 6. A reading/extracting part 5-1 extracts a HIRAGANA (cursive form of Japanese syllabary) reading type headword including =2 KANJI out of the dictionary among those headwords read out of the dictionary 6. A coincidence deciding part 5-2 checks the coincidence of words based on the headword extracted by the part 4 and the KANA reading extracted by the part 5-1 and decides the coincidence words as the word ending read-down type words for output of data.
