PURPOSE:To obtain the title curing agent of a low viscosity and excellent workability which can give a cured product excellent in water resistance and alkali resistance, comprising a polymercaptan obtained by adding H2S to a specified glycidyl ether or glycidylamine. CONSTITUTION:The curing agent is prepared from a polymercaptan obtained by effecting an addition reaction of H2S with a glycidyl ether of a viscosity =200P (25 deg.C), derived from a polyalcohol such as glycerin, trimethylolpropane, neopentyl glycol, 1,4-butanediol or 1,6-hexanediol, or a glycidylamine, of a viscosity =200P (at 25 deg.C), derived from an aromatic amine such as aniline or o- toluidine. 100pts.wt. epoxy resin is mixed with 10-100pts.wt. of the curing agent and the mixture is rapidly cured at normal temperature or at a low temperature of 0-15 deg.C to obtain a cured product excellent in water resistance, etc.
