PURPOSE:To obtain a heat-resistant low-alloy steel strip having improved strength at high temp. and improved resistance to hydrogen attack by adding specified amount of C, Mn, Cr, Mo, V, Si and P to Fe and satisfying specified relations among the Cr, Mo and V contents. CONSTITUTION:The composition of a steel is composed of, by weight, 0.08- 0.25% C, 0.3-1.5% Mn, 1.5-5% Cr, 0.5-1.5% Mo, 0.15-0.4% V, 0.2% Si, 0.01% P and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities. In the composition, Cr, Mo and V satisfy equations Cr+1.5Mo+2V4.2 V/Cr0.15 and V/C=1.5-2.5. The elements may satisfy equations Cr+1.5Mo+2V4.2, V/Cr0.15 and (V+ 0.6N)/C=1.5-2.5, if possible.
