CASTING MOLD WITH ELECTROMAGNETIC STIRRING FOR CONTINUOUS CASTING OF BLOOM

PURPOSE:To provide a titled casting mold which enables the advantageous intensification of electromagnetic stirring, by providing both of cooling water passages for feed and drain of a water-cooled casting mold in the upper part of the frame of the casting mold, and enabling the installation of a large-sized electromagnetic device in the space in the lower part. CONSTITUTION:Cooling water passages 7', 7'' are provided in the upper part of a casting mold frame 4 to be mounted on an oscillation table 12 to pass cooling water like the water flow duct 7''-part of an upper header 5' partitioned with blind plugs 18, 19-a vertical hole 20-a lower header 5-a cooling passage 6- an upper header 5'-the drain duct 7' in a casting mold which is provided with an electromagnetic device consisting of an iron core frame 9 and an electromagnetic coil 8 on the rear of a backup frame 3 enclosing the water-cooled casting mold 2 made of copper for continuous casting of a bloom and forces the stirring and flowing in an arrow 11 direction to molten steel 1. The electromagnetic device is installed in the space in the lower part of said passages 7', 7'' and a lower flange 15 bolted 14 to the frame 9 is bolted 16 to the frame 3 and the frame 4.
