DRUG COMPOSITION HAVING PREVENTING AND REMEDYING ACTION ON ROTAVIRUS INFECTIOUS DISEASE

PURPOSE:A preventive and remedy for a rotavirus infections diesease, having neutralizing activity on rotavirus and high safety, comprising a monomer IgA as a main ingredient. CONSTITUTION:An immunoglobulin comprising a monomer IgA as a main ingredient is collected from the serum, plasma, and placental blood of humal and mammals as a raw material, and used for preventing and remedying rotavirus. The raw material is purified by salting out method, ion exchange chromatography, gel filtration, affinity chromatography, etc., so that the content of IgG causing allergic reactions like anaphylaxis is =10wt%, preferably a mall amount as less as possible. The obtained monomer IgA exhibits strong neutralizing acrivity against rotavirus, and also suppresses the propagation of rotarirus in an animal experiment. In pharmaceutical preparation, after being converted into a common oral drug, it is advantageously subjected to enteric coating. The dosage is 10-5,000mg/day as monomer IgA.
