PURPOSE:To contrive to reduce ghost by adding a timewise averaging processing to the Wigner distribution of optional number of signals having an optional frequency component. CONSTITUTION:An inputted time signal f(t) is converted into a digital signal by an analog/digital(AD) converter 11. let the sampling start time of the AD converter 11 be t=0, the sampling interval be T(sec), the sampled all data number be N, then the output is expressed as f(nT), where n=0, 1, 2, 3...N-1. The output f(nT) is given to a Wigner distribution circuit 13 via a buffer 12. The Wigner distribution Wf(iT, mOMEGA) as the intermediate result is obtained at the Wigner distribution calculation circuit 13 by digital operation. To the intermediate result, the timewise averaging processing is applied. That is, after the intermediate result Wf(iT, mOMEGA) is given to a proper buffer 21 and the result is operated by a Wigner distribution averaging circuit 22.
