PURPOSE:To enable a smooth transfer of freight irrespective of the halting position of the trailer by providing a freight position adjusting mechanism which can move the freight on a truck in the forward and backward directions and adjusting the freight position itself in accordance with the transfer position of the freight. CONSTITUTION:On the truck 1, there is provided the freight position adjusting mechanism which can move the freight in the forward and backward directions. This adjusting mechanism comprises a freight carrying plate 2, a number of rollers 3 which facilitates the forward and backward movement of the freight carrying plate 2, and a rack pinion mechanism 4 which moves the freight carrying plate 2 in the forward and backward directions. The freight carrying plate 2 is provided with a sensor 5 such as a photoelectric switch which detects out a reference position of a conveyor and the like on a ground station. The sensor 5 detects out a position error between the freight on the truck 1 and the reference position on the ground. In accordance with the detected error, the rack pinion mechanism 4 is controlled so as to move the freight carrying plate 2 so that the freight on the plate 2 will be aligned with the reference position on the ground.
