The welding gun operates in argon-protected atmos. and uses lasting, pref. W electrodes. The gun is mainly used on automatic welding machines. It comprises a cartridge with electrode-accepting bore and extends from the nose of the gun to the rear with a split section and an increased-diameter part at the rear end. The increased-dia. section has a loosely fitting bushing with a bore tapering to a dia. which is smaller than the dia. of the gun nose. The wall of the bushing has gas passage holes and the gun head has a through bore as well as insulation on the external surface of the gun.
