A portable terminal with a monitor (2) and a keyboard (3), whose housing (1) is dimensioned so that the terminal can be slid into a shelf in a transmission cabinet between two short rows. The monitor (2) and keyboard (3) are mounted along two opposing faces of the housing's interior in a vertical position. The monitor mount (6) is positioned somewhat in front of the keyboard mount (7) as seen from the front of the terminal. The monitor (2) is thus positioned furthest out and can be set up at a certain angle after which the keyboard (3) can be set down in a fixed horizontal position. The monitor can then be set to its original vertical position if the display is to be made visible to an operator.IMAGE
