The invention relates to a method for preparing a vector for vaccination against myxomatosis, wherein the buccal parts of a stinging insect are artificially loaded with a certain amount of non-pathogenic attenuated myxomatosis virus by dipping the insects in a viral suspension assaying at not less than 108 ID50/ml and containing a binding agent and an oxygen-transporting agent, the insects being, after dipping, removed from the bath to constitute the vaccinating vector.
