In the construction of a suspended ceiling or a partition comprising a panel of taut fabric or netting supported by a rigid peripheral frame openings are provided adjacent to the border, e.g. to accomodate intersection by exposed pipework or other services, by means of a rigid slotted plate on to one face of which the borders of an opening made in the fabric can be secured by e.g. adhesive, to maintain the tension in the fabric adjacent to and opposite the opening.
