ABSTRACTThe invention relates to a method of constructing an assembly ofat least two metal parts such as a rolling bearing with a housing or shaft inmating or fitting contact with each other and with minimal movement relativeto each other under an alternating load, in such manner to avoid frettingcorrosion at the surfaces in contact. The key to the method resides in aprovision of a layer of homogeneous elastic material on one of the surfaces,the elastic material having an outer face in contact with the other metalsurface, the outer face of the elastic layer being of high density and extremesmoothness. The invention includes an assembly made by the method referred toabove.
