TITLETHERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMERIC COMPOSITIONSBASED ON COMPATIBLE BLENDS OF AN ETHYLENECOPOLYMER AND VINYL OR VINYLIDENE HALIDE POLYMERABSTRACTA thermoplastic elastomeric compositionbased on compatible blends of a ethylene copolymerand a vinyl or vinylidene halide polymer. Thecompositions comprise a partially cross-linked blendof(a) a copolymer of ethylene and one or morecopolymerizable comonomers selectedfrom the group consisting ofethylenically unsaturated organicmonomers, carbon monoxide and sulfurdioxide; and(b) between 5 and 75 weight percent, basedon the composition, of a vinyl orvinylidene halide polymerwherein the comonomer content in (a) is such that theethylene copolymer is compatible with the vinyl orvinylidene halide polymer. The compositions are meltprocessible using conventional plastic equipment.Articles molded from the compositions exhibitproperties generally only associated with vulcanizedrubber. The compositions have a variety of uses e.g.wire coverings, seals and gaskets, automotive parts,sheet liners and packaging films.AD-5257A
