MODULE SECTIONS, MODULES AND FORMWORK FOR MAKING INSULATED CONCRETE WALLS

ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE:A formwork is made up of a series of plasticfoam modules disposed in the manner of a brick wall andforming a mold into which concrete is poured, theformwork remaining permanently secured to the concreteto produce a concrete wall insulated both on the insideand on the outside. Each module is formed of twoidentical sections disposed in mirror position. Eachmodule section is a panel having inner spaced ribs whichterminate short of the top and bottom panel edges andinserts are embedded in the ribs, having aperturesopening in the free spaces formed by the ends of the ribsand the panel edges. Once the two identical modulesections are placed in mirror position, at the cons-truction site, they are held together by horizontal tie-rods having hooked ends lockingly engaged in the insertapertures. Adjoining tie-rods, in modules, disposedone over the other, are further interlocked by verticalcoupling rods to prevent separation of the modulesduring pouring of the concrete. Reinforcement barsupports are fixed to these coupling rods, being bent attheir ends to form troughs into which horizontal reinforce-ment bars may be lodged.
