AbstractA tow boat having winch means for towingobjects and handling anchors and the like, said winchmeans being arranged on or adjacent a main deck extendingalong the major part of the afterbody and comprisinga first winch having a cable leaving the winch andextendable in spaced parallel relationship to the maindeck for towing objects and the like, and a secondwinch having a cable leaving the underside of a drumforming part of the winch for handling anchors andthe like. The first winch has a higher position thanthe second winch. A 'tweendeck is arranged at a levelbelow that at which the cable leaves a drum formingpart of the first winch and above the level at whichthe cable leaves the drum of the second winch, saidlevel lying above the main deck. Moreover, a verticalshaft may be provided adjacent the winch means to extendto the underside of the vessel.
