Compounds of formula I or II …CHEM… wherein R is a hydrogen, a pharmaceutically acceptable metal or amine cation, an alkyl radical of from one to six carbon atoms, a phenyl radical, or a phenylmethyl radical; and wherein X and Y are independently a hydrogen, an alkyl radical of from one to six carbon atoms, an alkoxy radical of from one to six carbon atoms, a chlorine or a trifluoromethyl radical. A process for preparing the compounds and pharmaceutical compositions comprising the compounds are also disclosed, The compounds are useful in the treatment of senility and for reversing amnesia.
