A method for detecting and correcting for isotope burn-in during long-term neutron dosimetry exposure preferably with duplicate solid state track recorder fissionable deposits, including a first, fissionable deposit of lower mass to quantify the number of fissions occuring during the exposure, and a second deposit of higher mass to quantify the number of atoms of for instance 239Pu by alpha counting. With only one solid state track recorder fissionable deposit the resulting higher track densities are counted with a scanning electron microscope. This method is also applicable to other burn-in interferences, e.g., 233U in 232Th or 238Pu in 237Np.
