The invention relates to a process for manufacturing by coprecipitation of a powder based on zinc oxide and comprising one or more additives. The method comprises: - a step of preparation of one or several solutions a, b, by dissolving quantities determined of salts of the elements involved in the composition of the powder: zinc and the addition (s); - a step of preparation of a buffer solution 2 presaturated by the said elements, this buffer solution possessing a ph in order to determine precipitate the hydroxyl compounds of the elements corresponding to the elements saturating the buffer solution; - a step during which is added to the said buffer solution 2, the solutions a, b, the fall of the ph being compensated by the addition of a base and the volume of the buffer solution being kept constant by drawing off liquid surplus; - a step during which the precipitate obtained is treated in order to obtain the powder.
