The drive device is provided for the crochet needles serving for weft and/or tuck-thread crocheting in needle-type ribbon weaving machines. In needle-type ribbon weaving machines (1), the crochet needles (11, 12) are fastened to the end of arms (9, 10) which are moved to and fro by a shaft (8), the crochet needles moving on circle arcs having different radii on account of the differing arm length. To make the taking-down easier, at least one crochet needle (12) is arranged pivotably on the arm (9) and is connected in an articulated manner to one end of a lever (22) which is connected in an articulated manner at its other end to the needle-type ribbon weaving machine.
