For mounting components (6) of electric and electronic circuits on an object, all the required components (6) are arranged in a magazine (1) and positioned accurately by means of a centering device (9, 11) independently of the type and size of the components. The components (6) may then be transferred to the object (24) on which they have to be mounted, for example by a numerically controlled automatic mounting unit, by means of mounting tools (37) and simultaneously by means of a pusher (7). A simple, very accurate and efficient mounting method is thereby obtained.
