Magnetically guided feeder for one of several outlets

The guidable feeder comprises a tube or chute (17) pivotally mounted at its top, inlet end (18) and surrounded by a fixed housing (4,5) so shaped that each of the desired feed positions is defined and constrained by the shape of the housing. The feeder tube (17) is exteranally at least twice as long as wide, pivots about its support zone (18) near the top inlet end, and is equipped with a magnet (20) by which it is guided to the desired position under the influence of a magnetic field generated by a device (16) outside the housing (5). In this pivotal movement, the top inlet end (18) remains substantially in one place. Used for feeding a pourable liquid such as a distillate, a condensate or a chromatographic fraction, or also a powder, into one of several receiving outlets (2). The device is simple and inexpensive to make and to keep clean, and is entirely chemically inactive to the various substances.
