The reluctance motor control circuit has a respective switch (A..D) for switching the individual motor windings (1..4) in and out. The motor windings (1..4) are connected as two transformer pairs (1,2; 3,4) and are connected in parallel with a capacitor (7) which is charged by the switching current transients. Each of the switches (A..D) has a switching transistor with a parallel free-running diode (8), the current supply provided by a controlled current source (5) providing free-running diode (8), the current supply provided by a controlled current source (5) providing higher currents at the lower switching frequency range. Pref. the capacitor (7) has a capacitance of about 2000 micro-Faraos.
