The injector meters very small quantities of fuel in an IC engine. A cylindrical jet insert (5) retained by a jet plate (8) with a hole (9) in the middle. A hole (10) near the edge forms a connection between a supply channel and a ring shaped fuel chamber (11). Concentric with this chamber, and inside it, is a ring shaped centrifugal chamber (12) connected to the inner end (19) of a central return channel (17). Between the inner chamber (12) and this inner end, are small channels (16) which slope inwards and rearwards. The return channel can include a control member, and the cross sectional area of sloping channels is not more than half that of the return channel. The front part (18) of the return channel is smaller, and immediately behind the hole in the middle of the jet plate. USE/ADVANTAGE - IC engine fuel injector.
