Purified gas on the outlet of a gas scrubber is reheated by taking some of the stream and passing it through a heat exchanger. All the gas entering the scrubber passes through this exchanger so the outlet stream becomes heated and the inlet stream is cooled. The gas passing through the exchanger on the clean side then enters a mixer where it is recombined with main stream. The proportion passing this way is controlled by the final outlet temp. For use on the outlets of waste and refuse incineration plants, esp. where electrostatic precipitators are used. The system allows indirect heating of the purified gas and indirect cooling of the gas feed to the scrubber by a heat exchange arrangement.
