SYSTEM FOR THE CANCELLATION OF INTENTIONAL DISTURBANCE APPLIED TO A MONOPULSE PHASED ARRAY RADAR

A system for the cancellation of directional jammers in phased array type radars includes circuitry for the processing of signals that originate from the three monopulse beams available in the phased array radar with electronic azimuth and elevation scanning. There is obtained the sum of signals and difference for the monopulse evaluation of the angular coordinates of a target. The system does not require the use of auxiliary antennae placed around the radar antenna and the relative processing channels. Neither does it require the multiple processing channels that would be necessary in the case in which it is desired to control all the phased array radiating elements in amplitude and phase. The received signals from the three beams can still be used to calculate the angular coordinates of a target without suffering the damaging effects of the disturbances which are present.
