It involves a heat exchanger for heat recovery from clear sludge on raw sludge with at least one internal pipe through which one sludge passes and an external pipe surrounding the internal pipe concentrically. In order to obtain an especially economic heat recovery without inserting a heat carrier medium even at comparatively low temperature differences, it is proposed that a helical glide surface be arranged while forming an annular space for the flow of the other sludge participating in the heat exchange between the internal and the external pipes.
